Dr. Abraham “Bramie” M. Lenhoff is the Allan P. Colburn Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Delaware’s Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, where he has pioneered innovative research in protein–colloid interactions. His laboratory focuses on elucidating and exploiting the molecular-scale interactions governing protein transport, adsorption, and phase behavior in bioprocess environments, bridging fundamental science with applications in separations and therapeutic development. Dr. Lenhoff earned his B.S. from the University of Cape Town in 1976, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1979 and 1984, respectively. Among his numerous honors are election as a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (both 2003); the Alan S. Michaels Award (2009); the Marvin J. Johnson Award of the ACS Biotech Division (2011); and the University of Delaware's Francis Alison Faculty Award (2014).
