Following 2 years as a strategy and government relations consultant for Molycorp, Andy joined the company in February 2011. As part of Molycorp’s Corporate Communications team, he manages the company’s government and public relations work and helps to develop and execute the company’s broader communications strategy.
Andy’s work with Molycorp has helped to elevate Washington’s attention to rare earths, their importance to key national priorities like clean energy and national security, the global supply and demand challenges, and Molycorp’s development of manufacturing capabilities across the mine-to-magnetics supply chain.
Andy left Capitol Hill in 2006 to attend the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, where he focused on business models and strategies that blend financial value with environmental and social value. He received his MBA in April 2008. A Colorado native, Andy holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Affairs and Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He and his wife Sue Bell live in Arlington, Virginia.
