Dr. Philip A. Marrone is a Senior Research Engineer at SAIC. He has extensive experience in the field of supercritical fluids and their applications in oxidation, gasification, and synthesis reactions. More recently, he has become interested in biofuel production via several methods ranging from fermentation to thermochemical-based processes, as well as in the use of supercritical fluids for converting biomass to biofuels. Dr. Marrone received his B.S. degree from Columbia University and both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from MIT, all in chemical engineering.
