Julian has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, from Florida International University, and a Master of Science degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University. In 2005, Julian joined Stress Engineering Services, an engineering consulting firm, where he has performed finite element analyses of pipelines, composite repaired pipelines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, subsea equipment, and other equipment in the downstream and upstream oil and gas industry. He has also performed a variety of tests on thin and thick wall pipes and fittings with mechanical damage, corrosion, and composite repaired pipes and fittings with mechanical damage. The scope of testing in pipelines has included bending fatigue tests, pressure fatigue tests, bending to failure and tension to failure tests. Julian has four publications related to pipeline work, and three other publications in the biomedical field. Julian is a registered professional engineer in Texas, and is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
