John Williams has been a consultant to government entities engaged in the waste management including the waste-to-energy field for the past 25 years including 23 with HDR Engineering and several years prior with Hayden Wegman. He is on the WTERT Advisory Board as well as the faculty at Columbia University. Much of his experience is rooted in guiding public project sponsors through the full service procurement process associated with the development of public private partnerships.
For the past several years his efforts have broadened to address issues related to sustainability and climate change. Mr. Williams was part of an effort that resulted in the Global Roundtable on Climate Change (Columbia Earth Institute) recognition of WTE as among the solutions to global warming. Last September he was asked to chair the Clinton Global Initiative Waste Management Action network which has been challenged with crafting a 21st century vision for waste and its management around the world.
