After graduation he worked as a chemical engineer at Fisons (no longer exists) and then as a senior chemical engineer at Albright & Wilson (no longer exists). On finishing post graduate studies he worked with Duncan Chisholm (no longer active) at the UK's National Engineering Laboratory (which no longer exists). In the early eighties he moved to UMIST (no longer exists) where he worked with Bodo Linnhoff (who is no longer active). His career in Mexico commenced at the Institute of Scientific Investagation at the University of Guanajuato. When this closed he transferred to the Department of Chemical Engineering (where the staff appear very worried).
