Dr. Michelle Kidder

Dr. Michelle K. Kidder’s is a physical organic chemist whose research focuses to advance clean energy technologies through integration of multi-modal hybrid materials that aid in separations and chemical conversion to optimize process intensification. She aims to improve the chemical and energy efficiencies while reducing economic and environmental impact through use of renewable feedstocks.   Her research describes kinetics, selectivity and thermodynamics affected by complex interfacial chemistries that occur in biomass/lignin conversion, carbon capture and release, and carbon...Read more

Dr. Travis J. Williams

Travis Williams' core areas of expertise include homogeneous catalysts and basic reaction science, new approaches to alternative energy, chemical synthesis, and molecular characterization. He is broadly well-trained in organic, inorganic, and analytical chemistry. Travis' start-up company, Catapower, Inc. uses proprietary catalysts and reactions to add value to glycerin waste that falls out of biodiesel production. Thier products help displace antibiotics, bleach, and ammonia from food production.

In his role as a PI at USC, Travis' lab is developing new catalysts...Read more
