Dr. Kelly Chavez Rose

Kelly Chavez Rose joined the Burroughs Wellcome Fund in January 2019 and oversees the Interfaces in Science and Regulatory Science programs, which invest a combined $10 million a year in biomedical research.  Prior to BWF, Dr. Rose was Executive Director for the Research Triangle Material Research Science and Engineering Center (RT-MRSEC), and coordinated research, education, and outreach activities between four partner universities in the Research Triangle (Duke, UNC-CH, NC State and NC Central). Flor Castillo

Flor Castillo is a Research Fellow working at the SABIC Technology Center in Sugar Land, Texas. She received a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin- Madison, Industrial Statistics & Quality. She is accredited Professional Statistician and holds a B.S in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Colombia.

Alexander Lapanowski

Alexander Lapanowski received his Ph.D. in statistics from Texas A&M University, where his research focused on machine learning methods for non-linear sparse feature selection and data compression within the discriminant analysis framework. He has presented his work at leading conferences, such as the Joint Statistical Meeting (JSM) and Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (AISTAT). AIChE Cleveland Section June 2021, Road Map to a U.S. Hydrogen Economy

There will be a three-presentation series on the plan to reduce U.S. carbon emissions with fossil fuels by transitioning into a Green Hydrogen economy generated by electrolysis powered by solar, wind, and nuclear power. The Green H2 will be used to power vehicles (cars, trucks, ships, trains, aircraft) with fuel cells powered by Hydrogen. Also, the ammonia, cement and steel industries will be fueled with Green H2 and not fossil fuels.
