Shoji Takeuchi

Graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, 1997 with a Masters in Mechano-Informatics and 2000 with a Ph.D. in Mechano-Informatics, all from the University of Tokyo, Shoji Takeuchi maintains a position as a Professor at his Alma Mater within the Graduate school of Information Science and Technology at the Department of Mechano-Informatics.

Katie Fayman

Katie Fayman is the Engagement Associate for MxD, the Digital Manufacturing Institute in Chicago.  In this role, Katie works with MxD’s Engagement team to develop and maintain strategic partnerships, programming, and committee operations.  Katie is responsible for the design and execution of MxD-sponsored workshops.  Prior to joining MxD, Katie worked in Professional Development at a mid-sized law firm in Chicago. I graduated from Zhejiang University in 2009, with BSc degree of Bioinformatics. Working for half a year in Dr. Ming Chen's lab, I finished my thesis of "miRPreditor: a novel miRNA target predictor based on SVM with feature analysis". Tara Deans

My research program utilizes molecular biology, genetic engineering, and mathematical modeling to develop functional platforms of synthetic biology tailored for applications in stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, drug delivery, cell-based therapeutics, and disease monitoring. My lab also interfaces synthetic biology and biomaterials to engineer bioinspired dynamic microenvironments to enhance stem cell proliferation in vitro.

Ben Cosgrove

Ben Cosgrove completed his Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the joint supervision of Dr. Doug Lauffenburger and Dr. Linda Griffith. His Ph.D. research established on experimental and computational systems biology tools to elucidate cytokine signaling network mechanisms regulating liver hepatocyte cell-fate decisions, and was supported by a Whitake Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
