David A. Mills

David Mills is a Professor in the Departments of Food Science & Technology and Viticulture & Enology at the University of California at Davis. Dr. Mills studies the molecular biology and ecology of bacteria that play an active role in gut health or fermented foods and beverages. In the last 20 years Dr. Mills has mentored over 30 graduate students and postdocs and published more than 180 papers, including seminal work on lactic acid bacterial and bifidobacterial genomics. Jen Ma

Jennifer Ma is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering, University of Toronto (UofT). She completed her BASc in Engineering Science at UofT, where she investigated the temporal effect of transgene expression on mouse embryonic fibroblasts reprogramming in her undergraduate thesis. Her current research at the Stem Cell Bioengineering Lab, led by Dr. Peter Zandstra, focuses on the development of a novel microfluidic-based, single-cell platform for rapid and direct enumeration of rare hematopoietic stem cells.

Heather Pangburn

Heather Pangburn, PhD, is Core Research Area Lead of Systems Biology for Performance, overseeing and conducting research related to the mechanisms contributing to performance optimization. Dr. Pangburn brings 10+ years’ experience in toxicology, molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry. She received her PhD in Molecular Toxicology from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center wherein she examined the biologic and biochemical mechanisms of the chemopreventive effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
