Scott Fogler is Past President of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers for 2010. He received his B.S. from the University of Illinois and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. He is the Ame and Catherine Vennema professor of chemical engineering and the Arthur F. Thurnau professor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is also the author of the 'Elements of Chemical Reaction Engineering', which is the dominant book in this area worldwide, and co-author with Steven LeBlanc of the book 'Strategies for Creative Problem Solving'.

Ron Darby has been on the faculty in the Chemical Engineering Department at Texas A&M University for the past 38 years. His research activities include complex fluid flow, rheology, viscoelastic fluids, turbulent drag reduction, heat and mass transfer, emergency relief design, multi-phase flow, and electrochemical engineering.
