Climate change essentially bring about alteration to our natural environment. This can be seen by way of changes in the weather pattern. We see this here in the Gulf region of the US, almost every year during our most infamous hurricane/storm season.

Emergency response plans and preparedness during this season is always critical. It is based on science, best practices and lessons learned. At these times, not only is the shutdown process very critical , however the start up and recovery measures are also critical..

This paper will discuss thoughts and views of the author of changes required to emergency response and preparedness plans that facilities have to account for, due to changes in the weather pattern. The author will also discuss how the risks to people and process during the recovery measures can best be minimized. Irrespective of the conditions and planning, the human lives must be preserved.
