Operational activities like hot work, pigging, breaking containment, overrides/temporary defeats, etc. can have a big impact on status of barriers but can also be an initiating event for process safety incidents. Organizations however, do not have a clear sight on status of barriers and struggle to integrate process safety management within day-to-day operations. By using dynamic barrier management Process Safety Management can be seamlessly integrated with Operational Risk Management.
