(437a) Becoming a Well-Rounded Scholar: A Spotlight on Effective Teaching & Mentoring

Both teaching and mentoring require skills that are often not taught explicitly and require in-the-moment assessment and adjustment to be most effective. In this panel, I will share tips and strategies centered in belonging-centered instruction and mentoring from evidence-based practices and my own experiences. These topics could include alignment of course content, pedagogy, and assessment of how to manage and lead an effective research group. Overall, this discussion will provide ways to shape your development as a scholar beyond research and help make all the aspects of your role effective.
