Air Products Sponsors AIChE’s Energy and Sustainability Award

November 3, 2014

Air Products, the Allentown, PA-based provider of industrial gases, has announced that it will sponsor AIChE's Energy and Sustainability Award — one of several Institute honors that recognize outstanding contributions to industrial practice.

The 2014 Energy and Sustainability Award recipient is Dr. Frank (Xin) Zhu, Senior Technology Fellow at UOP, A Honeywell Company (Des Plaines, Illinois), who is being honored for technical contributions that have achieved significant energy savings in the refining and petrochemicals industries. The award will be presented on November 16 at AIChE’s Honors Ceremony, held in connection with AIChE Annual Meeting (Nov. 16–21) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Brian Farrell, Chief Engineer at Air Products, spoke of his company’s gratification in supporting the award, noting, “The Energy and Sustainability Award strongly reflects our corporate values. I hope that the funding will set a leadership precedent for corporate sponsorship of AIChE’s other awards for industry achievement.”

Founded in 1940, Air Products (www.airproducts.com) has more than 20,000 employees and operates in more than 50 countries. The company provides atmospheric, process and specialty gases, and related equipment to manufacturing markets including metals, food and beverage, refining and petrochemical, and natural gas liquefaction.
