AIChE to Celebrate “A Decade of Good” at the 2025 Gala

October 14, 2025

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) will host its 2025 Annual Gala on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at The Pierre Hotel in New York City. This year’s theme, “Engineering a Decade of Impact,” celebrates ten years of Doing a World of Good and the AIChE Foundation’s ability to make a transformative impact on education, safety, inclusion, and innovation across the chemical engineering profession.

Over the past decade, AIChE donors’ generous giving has advanced programs that create meaningful change for engineers and communities worldwide. More than 92,000 chemical engineering undergraduates have been certified, and over 1,000 professors have been trained in process safety through the Undergraduate Process Safety Learning Initiative (UPSLI). Through Bee A ChemE, nearly 500 K-8 schoolchildren engaged in hands-on STEM outreach, inspiring future engineers. The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) has awarded scholarships to more than 500 HBCU undergraduates, building a stronger and more inclusive talent pipeline.

The 2025 Gala will bring together leaders, supporters, and advocates of chemical engineering to honor past honorees from the last ten years whose innovation, leadership, and generosity have advanced the field and benefited society. Together, these honorees represent a decade of progress driven by the Doing a World of Good campaign and the community of donors who made it possible.

“As we look back on a decade of Doing a World of Good, we’re really celebrating the people who have benefited from this generosity –– the students who found opportunity, the educators who gained new tools, and the communities strengthened through innovation,” said Victor Bohnert, AIChE’s Interim CEO. “Their stories are what make this milestone so meaningful.”

As of October 10, the 2025 Gala’s chairs include Jennifer Sinclair Curtis, Chair of the AIChE Foundation and Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Davis; Joseph D. Smith, 2025 AIChE President and the Laufer Endowed Energy Chair at Missouri S&T; and John Televantos, Former Chair of the AIChE Foundation Doing a World of Good Campaign and Senior Partner at Arsenal Capital Partners.

The 2025 AIChE Gala is made possible through the generous support of Arsenal Capital Partners, BASF, Chevron, Chevron Phillips Chemical, and Eastman (as of October 9). Proceeds will benefit AIChE’s philanthropic initiatives, including K-12 STEM outreach, inclusive professional communities, and global process safety education.
