Experts in energy storage technologies will gather at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois for the 7th Battery and Energy Storage Conference — the premier event focused on accelerating the development and deployment of next-generation storage solutions. Hosted by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the three-day conference — slated for September 23–25, 2025 — brings together scientists, engineers, and policy makers working in the fields of energy storage and conversion technologies to identify, communicate, and explore current advancements in storage materials, devices, and systems.
This year’s conference emphasizes innovations aimed at achieving reliable and cost-effective energy storage, electrified transportation, and novel strategies involving recycling, artificial intelligence (AI) integration, materials scaling, and device manufacturing. With a focus on translating innovation into impact, the conference offers a dynamic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and partnership across industry, academia, national labs, and startups.
Conference topics include:
- AI in Energy Storage
- Electrified Transportation
- Critical Materials, Battery Supply Chains, and Recycling
- Grid-Scale Energy Storage
- New Materials Discovery
- Materials Scaling and Device Manufacturing
The deadline for oral presentation abstracts has passed, but poster submissions are still being accepted. Researchers and innovators are encouraged to share their work with peers and industry leaders. Submit your abstract by June 24, 2025, for the opportunity to be part of this influential event: https://aiche.confex.com/aiche/besw25/cfp.cgi.
This year’s program is guided by conference chair Venkat Srinivasan, director of both the Argonne Collaborative Center for Energy Storage Science (ACCESS) and the Low-cost Earth-abundant Na-ion Storage (LENS) Consortium.
Registration for the conference is open, with reduce rates in effect until August 13. To register, and for up-to-date information about the 7th Battery and Energy Storage conference, visit www.aiche.org/battery2025/register.
