This is a follow-up to the author’s March 2014 article, “Introduction to Pressure Measurement,” pp. 28–34, which described the basics of pressure measurement and provided general guidance on instrument selection, focusing on the type of instrument (sensor, transducer, transmitter, smart transmitter).
This article focuses more on the selection process. It looks at some additional parameters, such as linearity, temperature error, hysteresis, resolution, etc., and discusses their importance in different types of applications (critical value monitoring, continuous pressure control, etc.).
