There are five operational issues that can give fan system operators nightmares: noise, vibration, capacity, control, and mechanical failure. Often there is overlap since several could be occurring simultaneously. This article describes the five problem areas and demonstrate the connection between them and potential energy reduction measures using relevant examples.
