At some point in their careers, most chemical engineers will find themselves responsible for managing a project and/or the construction of a capital project. Often times, engineers who assume these rolls do not have formal training as project managers or construction managers, but instead rely on intuition and experience. This article serves to provide guidance to chemical engineers who find themselves fulfilling the role of construction manager for a capital project.
