These fluid-bed dryers and coolers have a simple transport design and a first-in/first-out drive system that make them an energy-efficient solution for applications in the food, chemical, dairy, pharmaceutical and aggregate products industries. This equipment offers true product plug flow, accurate product residence-time adjustments, and lower air requirements, making it especially useful for smaller ancillary equipment. The process of shaking fluidized-bed drying employs sub-fluidized conditioning, which keeps the product at the fluidization threshold to ensure little or no axial or longitudinal mixing. A normal bed thickness of 6–10 in. can be achieved.
