P420 Series plastic, vortex-shedding flowrate transmitters have no moving parts that can stick, bind, or become coated. They can handle fluids with viscosities to 4.5 cP or 50 SUS. In certain models, wetted parts are constructed entirely of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or chlorinated PVC (CPVC) for improved heat resistance. PVC and CPVC units are available in standard pipe sizes and flowrates: 0.375 in., 6 gal/min (22.7 L/min); 0.5 in., 12 gal/min (45.0 L/min.); 0.75 in., 25 gal/min (95 L/min); 1.0 in., 50 gal/min (190 L/min); 1.5 in., 100 gal/min (380 L/min); and 2.0 in., 200 gal/min (750 L/min). The P420 models with the CPVC body and sensor transmit hot water or other fluids with a maximum operating temperature of 180°F, compared with a 140°F maximum for the PVC units.
