The high-capacity MV Multi-Trap vacuum pump inlet-traps guard pumps against corrosive vapors and binder materials that are present during extrusion processes. These byproducts can condense and accumulate, resulting in pump failure and the need for more-frequent maintenance. The traps are available in 10-in., 12-in., and 16-in.-dia. models and can handle vacuum pump capacities up to 2,000 ft3/min. They come with activated alumina or charcoal filter elements for vapors and specialized elements. Drains and float switches for the automatic disposal of volatile compounds can be provided where necessary.
