The HEC-1010 controller allows for programmable intelligence under less-than-ideal conditions because it has a sealed, watertight enclosure with connectors that can be plugged in. Its standard enclosure is submersible to 3 ft and can be mounted with screws. The controller can be programmed with the manufacturer’s EZ Ladder software, which supports ladder diagram and function block programming. It features 8–32-VDC input power, two 40-kHz high-speed counters, two 10-bit resolution 0–5-VDC analog inputs, and PWM (pulse-width modulation)/digital outputs rated to 3 A with automatic over-current safety and programmable status monitoring. Network communication is accomplished via two controller-area network (CAN) ports, one of which is a dedicated J1939 connector. The controller includes a real-time clock that has a skip-a-day capability for customization. The HEC-1010 is suitable for use in engine-driven pumps and compressors, field monitoring, mine and oil equipment, conveyor systems and marine applications. PWM outputs can be utilized to directly drive proportional valves and subfractional-horsepower DC motors.
