Version 3.3 of the gPROMS advanced process modeling (APM) software provides high-fidelity predictive process modeling for process engineers. The latest version contains improved productivity features that help the user to quickly obtain initial solutions for complex processes such as coupled reactions and distillation flowsheets. Special features help facilities to protect the intellectual property embodied in their models so that they may be distributed securely within and outside the organization. When used to carry out high-fidelity predictive modeling of both products and processes, the APM program can help engineers to speed innovation, manage development risk, and optimize process design and operation. The new graphical task editor provides easy drag-and-drop functionality and graphical visualization to the existing gPROMS task language, making it easy to define and verify complex operating procedures and startup policies for batch and other dynamic processes. Other new features simplify the creation of process flowsheets and reduce memory consumption.
