In only eight minutes, the AC Sulfur SIMDIS analyzer reports the sulfur boiling-point distribution of petroleum products having a final boiling point of 450°C (850 °F) or lower at atmospheric pressure. The device is based on the Agilent Technologies 6890 Series GC with electronic pneumatics control configured with: accelerated SIMDIS ASTM D 2887 application; flame ionization detector (FID); and automatic liquid injector. To determine the sulfur components present in the sample, the analyzer uses a sulfur chemiluminescence detector (SCD), which offers excellent sensitivity. The SCD enables the analyzer to detect sulfur concentrations below 50 ppm in diesel samples and possibly down to 10 ppm depending on the distribution of the sulfur components in the sample.
