3E Online MSDS now includes the Revision Alert module, which centralizes the detection and reporting of revisions to the Material Safety Data Sheet management system. It allows users to quickly view exact changes made to any MSDS in a company’s inventory. It provides notification via a weekly e-mail report of key data element revisions, including Chemical Abstract Service registry number (CAS RN) changes, National Fire Protection Association/Hazardous Materials Identification System (NFPA/HMIS) changes, and physical and health hazard modifications. It determines the impact of each modification on training programs and regulatory reporting requirements, such as those mandated by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) in the U.S., National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) in Canada, and the European Community’s Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) legislation. It also notifies site personnel as needed to update secondary container labels or change how a product is stored onsite.
