Knight-Ware PV33P fireclay acid brick

The Knight-Ware PV33P fireclay acid brick is suitable for chemical processing industry vessels, such as chlorine drying towers and quench columns. Engineered to provide a low predictable swell in corrosive applications, it can withstand the thermal shock and spalling common in such equipment. The brick complies with ASTM C-279 Type 1 designation for chemical-resistant masonry, and is durable enough for the harshest corrosive and high-temperature environments. As part of an engineered lining system, the brick ensures maximum service life and reliability for pressure vessels.

WaterShed XC 11122

WaterShed XC 11122 is a nearly colorless version of the best-selling acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)-like WaterShed 11120 material, and it produces parts that look more like true, clear engineered plastic. This improvement in aesthetics comes without penalty to its mechanical properties, as WaterShed XC has been formulated with the Oxetane AdvantageT, which is an advanced chemistry platform that produces parts with outstanding water resistance and high dimensional stability.

Dion 31616-00/31100-00

The Dion 31616-00/31100-00 is made from low-styrene nano-composite and carbon-fiber-compatible, impact-resistant, toughened urethane hybrid resin. Designed for high-strength structural and impact-resistant fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) applications in the sheet molding compounds (SMC) and pultrusion markets, the resin was developed to allow end-users to simultaneously achieve the excellent flexibility and toughness of polyurethanes, combined with the high strength, stiffness, and temperature resistance of unsaturated polyesters.

HR 562 chopped-strand glass fiber

Developed specifically for use with polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), HR 562 chopped-strand glass fiber is the latest addition to the PerforMax family of hydrolysis-resistant high-performance thermoplastic reinforcements. HR 562 chopped strand is tailored to resist exposure to high temperatures. It offers the highest hydrolysis resistance of any glass-fiber reinforcements used in conjunction with PPS, thereby reducing the risk of polymer breakdown by fluids and chemicals in high-temperature environments.

Dyneon FPO 3741 fluoroelastomer

With increased global interest in reducing emissions, improving fuel efficiency and finding alternatives to petroleum-based fuels, fatty acid methyl esters such as rapeseed-oil methyl ester (RME), soy methyl ester (SME) and other biodiesel variants are gaining in importance. Biodiesel fuels and new diesel technology impose increased performance requirements on the elastomers used in diesel fuel and power train systems. These requirements include improved chemical resistance at higher operating temperatures over long periods of time.

Vicote coatings and Victrex PEEK HT grades

Based on Victrex PEEK polymer, a linear, aromatic, semi-crystalline material, Vicote coatings and Victrex PEEK HT grades are now FDA-compliant and can be used in food processing and related applications to make components that will come into contact with food. Vicote 708 and 709 are available in 10-mm and 50-mm particle sizes, and address the specific requirements of demanding high-temperature applications. They also offer excellent wear and scratch resistance.

Rulon P30

New to this firm’s line of PTFE compounded materials is Rulon P30, developed for highly technical applications that require porosity, superior anti-adhesion and universal chemical resistance. The purity of this material ensures that no fluid it comes in contact with will become contaminated and its hydrophobic manner prevents water absorption. With a working temperature range from –320°F to 500°F, Rulon P30 is available in rods, tubes or sheets, as well as custom-fabricated finished parts.

Noryl GTX resins

The latest addition this polymer maker’s line of conductive fillers eliminate the need to apply an electrostatic primer. Designed for powder coating operations, conductive Noryl GTX resins are a replacement for metal substrates, offering increased design freedom and eliminating costly and potentially hazardous chemical pretreatment. The resin grades also make it possible to powder-coat metal and plastic on the same production line for economies of scale and uniform aesthetics.

Steel-It anti-rust stainless steel coatings

Steel-It anti-rust stainless steel coatings create a metallic barrier that helps prevent corrosive attack from chemicals, solvents, detergents, salt spray and power washing. Suitable for machinery and conveyors where all-stainless steel construction is impractical, these single-component paints exhibit 2H pencil hardness, so they resist chipping and scratching from tools and carts. USDA-approved, they can be applied by brush, roller or spray systems, yielding a smooth metallic-gray finish that can last up to 10 years, depending on the environment.

TriArmor corrosion protection system

The TriArmor corrosion protection system features a new material of construction that extends the life of cold water basins — critical components of a cooling tower. The system exceeds the corrosion resistance of stainless steel with a more affordable price. It is resistant to all water chemistries and water treatment chemicals, and is impervious to high chloride levels. The system is backed with a 5-yr leak-and-corrosion warranty for all cold water basins applications.
