A term used to indicate compliance or adherence with Clean Water Standards, specifically with respect to a schedule or plan ordered or approved by a court of competent jurisdiction, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), or a water pollution control agency in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (Clean Water Act) [Public Law 92–500] and regulations issued pursuant thereto.
