Traditional plastics have been known to cause severe environmental damage, due to issues such as the leakage of toxic chemicals and the difficulty of waste treatment. The Eliminating Plastic Waste Roadmap event brings together scientists, engineers and other stakeholders to discuss and share ideas, innovations and achievements for helping to eliminate plastic waste as well as taking future steps to ensure the amount of plastic waste will not increase in the future. As part of the project, we also plan to launch a webinar and an online workshop in order to encourage participation from experts around the world. At the end of the event, the content of the meeting will be written in a report that will be disseminated to our members, as well as relevant contacts in organizations such as the NSF, EPA, USDA, and more.
Preliminary Session Topics
- Valorization of Plastic Waste/Catalysis
- Biological and Chemical Degradation of Plastics
- Sensors and Methods of Analyzing Compositions of Plastic Wastes
- Eliminating Plastic Waste: Creation of Novel Materials
