EPA has recently made several changes to air regulatory programs that impact the ethylene industry and is contemplating several more. These actions include ever-tightening ambient air quality standards, changes to permitting and modeling requirements, new greenhouse gas emissions requirements, removal of startup/shutdown/malfunction exemptions, and MACT risk and technology reviews that impose burdensome information collection activities and more stringent regulatory requirements. This presentation will discuss recent and potential future EPA air regulatory actions that will challenge the ethylene industry and provide insight on how to prepare for those challenges.
