The design of industrial chemical processes typically starts at a lab scale and passes through a battery of analyses on the road to production scale volumes. This session presents a case study of a batch reaction scale-up for a multimillion dollar specialty chemical project and approaches taken to address the challenges encountered along the way. Tools that will be discussed as part of the analysis include VisiMix and Statgraphics.
