This talk will summarize my lab's recent efforts in the deconstruction of polyethylene in the thermal region were pyrolysis is not a factor. I will talk about how textural properties and acidity impact the reactivity of zeolite catalysts. I will also highlight more recent work when we explore the role of potential additives to the reaction mixture. I will finish the talk by contextualizing the work in the large research space and highlight future prospects.
