With the more difficult and highly paraffinic feedstocks on the market along with more stringent diesel specifications, the need to provide an alternative opportunity to upgrade diesel quality is larger than ever. Applying specialty catalysts and process solutions to provide a cost effective way to improve the ULSD units cold flow properties of diesel gives a refinery an opportunity to expand market share with opportunities to increase overall refinery profitability. This paper discusses a range of commercially proven dewaxing catalyst process solutions successfully applied in the last decade in select North American units for improving diesel product Cold Flow Properties.
