The solid circulation rate is extremely important in a connecting dual fluidized bed and/or looping system. In this paper, the experimental research has been done in a dual fluidized bed cold model and a computational particle fluid dynamic (CPFD)model has been setup and analyzed. It evaluates the dynamic fluidization characteristics of a binary system of olivine and char, mainly about the effects of fluid gas superficial velocity in the riser Q1, return fluid superficial velocity Q2 and loose fluid superficial velocity Q3 in the loop seal on the binary materials circulation rate in the looping system. The influence of three different time steps and two different grids on the sensitivity of the computational model has been analyzed, respectively. The numerical model were successfully valid using the solid circulation rates in the experimental results. The well valid numerical model provides reference of theoretical and experimental for the hot circulating fluidized bed operation.
