Student Conference Bash

Missing Halloween weekend back on campus?  Unleash your creativity and participate in a chemical engineering themed costume contest at the highly anticipated Student Conference Monster Mash Bash!  Unwind with your fellow chapter members over food and music, socialize with chemical engineering students from around the world, and compete individually or as a chapter in the Chemical Engineering/science themed costume contest for a chance to win cool prizes! 

All students are encouraged to dress in costume, but only STEM related costumes can be entered into the contest.  Need some inspiration?  Click here for some fun ideas!

Contest Details & Rules:

• All students are encouraged to dress in costume, but only STEM related costumes can be entered into the contest.  Chemical engineering costumes preferred!
• Remember that this is a professional conference, and there will be professors and professionals in attendance.  You will be representing your university and your student chapter.  Keep costumes appropriate and non-offensive.
• Students can compete individually OR as a chapter.  Students cannot compete both individually and with their chapter.
• Space is limited to the first 50 entries
• Contest participants will be required to briefly show off their costumes on a cat-walk
• Official judges will score costumes on the following criteria (equally weighted):
  
  • Relation to Chemical Engineering/Science theme
  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Complexity
• All bash attendees will be able to vote on-site for their favorite chapter and individual costumes
  
  • Each bash attendee can vote once
  • Bash attendees must vote using their university email address
  • Bash attendees cannot vote for costume(s) from their own chapter

Awards & Prizes:

• 1st place chapter costume will win a PIZZA PARTY for their chapter (starting value of $100; chapter size will be considered when award is given)
• Fan favorite chapter costume will win an ice cream sundae party for their chapter (starting value of $50; chapter size will be considered when award is given)
• 1^st place individual costume will win a Chemical Engineering themed gift
• Fan favorite individual costume will win a Chemical Engineering themed gift

To Enter:

• provide us with the following information:
  
  • Whether you’ll be competing in the individual competition or as a chapter
  • Name(s) of model(s) & university email address(es)
  • Chapter/University name
  • A two sentence description of your costume (will be announced during the contest)
  • Brief explanation of how you plan to execute the costume (optional)

• Deadline to enter is Wednesday, October 25^th
