(127a) Tower Entry Safety Topics

Authors

Sukhram, B. - Presenter, Florida Safety Council
Victor, G., United Safety Council
This presentation is about safety courses/training that should/could be provided to people before they enter confined spaces. The audience is assumed to be typically distillation engineers and probably a number of them have not been in a confined space before. The author will talk about the History of Safety Councils, what Training Topics are available at both Florida’s as well as other Gulf Coast Safety Councils and also cover why many of them have reciprocity.

There will be a mention of such training topics as the importance as Lock out/ Tag out, harness use, air monitoring, hole watch, vessel walk down and fall protection. It will be noted when people need to get this training (how much in advance of vessel entry) and how often they need to be “retrained” so that safety is ever present on their mind during the work day.
