Fuels and Petrochemicals Division (F&PD) Awards Dinner | AIChE

The F&PD Awards Dinner is held each year to honor the recipients of the annual F&PD Award and the F&PD Distinguished Service Award. In addition, the division recognizes the outgoing officers for their service to the division and welcomes the newly elected officers.

Fuels and Petrochemicals Division Award

Award Recipient: Al Sacco, Astronaut and Dean of the Edward E. Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University

Presentation: "Motivating and Training Today's Youth to Solve Tomorrow's Problems; What I learned as a Member of the U.S. Astronauts' Corps" 

Award Description: The F&PD Award recognizes individuals who have made substantial technological contributions to the advancement of the fuels and petrochemicals industries as shown by a long and recognized record in the recipient’s areas of achievement. The award is based on a combination of technical achievement, management skills, business acumen, academic leadership and general service to the profession.

A brief introduction of the business and technology of LNG will be discussed in the beginning of this award.
