Interfacial Phenomena in Pharmaceutics

This session focuses on interfacial phenomena that affects stability and performance of pharmaceutics. Topics that highlight technological challenges and practical solutions are welcomed alongside those that seek fundamental understanding. Without excluding other interesting problems, examples may include interface-driven aggregation or denaturation of proteins or other biomolecules, wetting phenomena in solid dosage forms, or drug delivery systems that rely on the formation of emulsions or suspensions. Topics that address phenomena in the manufacturing of pharmaceutics may also be appropriate. For example, moving gas-liquid or gas-solid interfaces that form during lyophilization or spray drying may ultimately affect product stability and performance.
