Glycerol presents an abundant resource for the molecular design and scale-up of novel solvents with tailored properties (e.g., low viscosity, hydrophobicity, selective chelation). This talk will detail our efforts to date in this area, and the advantages in using glycerol-derived solvents in extraction of both organic and inorganic components.
