Post-combustion CO2 capture and direct air capture deal with moist gas streams. Removing water from these streams can be expensive; hence, processes are generally expected to operate in the presence of water. It is well known that several sorbents are either unstable or lose CO2 capacity in the presence of water. Given the importance of water on adsorptive CO2 capture, very few studies are aimed at quantifying H2O and H2O+CO2 co-adsorption. This talk highlights the measurement/modelling challenges and provides a perspective based on our experience working on Calgary Framework-20 (CALF-20).
