Heavy metals from industrial and domestic are considered as one of the major source of pollution. Beside these heavy metals, wastewater also contains metallic ions and other pollutants which create a huge problem in ecology and become health risk for human beings. In this work, removal of heavy metals like Copper and Zinc from aqueous solution using base treated coconut husk (BTCH) are studied at different pH. BTCH was characterized using FTIR, BET, XRD and SEM. To check the efficiency of BTCH, various parameter like contact time, pH of aqueous solution, initial concentration of metal ions and biosorbent dose over sorption kinetics of Cu and Zn using BTCH were investigated. The equilibrium condition was meet at average of 30 minutes for pH range of 3.0 to 5.5. It kinetic study showed that it followed pseudo second order rate reaction and reaction rate was calculated at 25ºC. Surface status and reaction kinetic shows that base treated coconut husk has enough potential to separate Copper and Zinc ions from aqueous solution.
