The CRE Division Practice recognizes individuals who have made pioneering contributions to industrial practice of catalysis and chemical reaction engineering.  The award will be presented at the division annual dinner (Sunday, Nov. 3rd, 7:30 pm, Le Colonial, San Francisco – Veranda and Lounge).

AIChE Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division 2013 Practice Award recipient: Dr.  Aleksey Yezerets, Director of Catalyst Technology, Corporate R&T, Cummins Inc.  The hallmark of Aleksey Yezerets’ work in catalysis and reaction engineering is a unique combination of steadfast focus on important industrial goals, augmented by a sophisticated understanding of the fundamentals and a special ability to extract and apply that understanding to reach practical goals.  His greatest success in industrial catalysis has been his contribution to the fundamental and applied catalysis research underpinning the award-winning diesel exhaust emissions reduction system successfully commercialized by Cummins. With over 450,000 vehicles on the road to date, this research has provided a tangible contribution to reducing vehicular emissions in the US.  He holds 10 U.S. patents and is the author of 50 technical publications.
