In this talk I will describe a strategy for the synthesis of high quality colloidal nanocrystals. The advantages of this new synthetic approach are: (i) it can be easily scaled to the multigram-scale, (ii) it necessitates lower temperatures than most traditional methods, (iii) it employs highly stable, cheap and recyclable precursors; (iv) it uses far less solvents than the traditional routes; (v) the nanomaterials it produces are often superior to the ones produced by traditional routes in terms of monodispersity and performance.
