(5da) Metabolic Engineering Microorganisms for Applications in Drug Discovery, Biofuel Development and Commodity Chemical Production

My Ph.D and postdoctoral research focuses on the field of metabolic engineering and synthetic biology with the general goal of programming microbial cells to achieve the unique capability of synthesizing important molecules for biofuel development, drug discovery and commodity chemical production. In this poster, I will present an overview of my Ph.D work on constructing microbial production platforms for the synthesis of natural drug candidate-flavonoids and my postdoctoral research on engineering metabolic systems for the production of commodity chemicals and advanced fuels from renewable sources.
