(220d) Ensuring Viability of Carbon Credits and Offsets

This presentation will provide discussion regarding how greenhouse gas emission reduction credits and offsets should be developed, tracked and documented in order to be effectively utilized, banked and traded. Specifically, the presenter will review the various available greenhouse gas trading programs such as the Kyoto Protocol, the European Union Emissions Trading, Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiatives, and the Chicago Climate Exchange and discuss their current availability for U.S. companies. The presenter will also outline the monitoring, recordkeepig and reporting information required to properly support the emission reduction and effectively claim the reduction credit. The presenter will then briefly address contract issues arising in greenhouse gas credit trading.
