Phosphorus plays an important role on the process of life evolution, and people can't live without phosphorus. The exploitation of phosphorite enhances earth's fertility, make earth feed more people. However, phosphorite is one of non-renewable resources. The incorrect way of exploitation and use cause phosphorite being exhausted more and more quickly in China. It is estimated that mineral resource of phosphorus in China can only be used for about 70 years, and the rich phosphorite can only be used for 10-15 years.

It is necessary to analyze that why phosphorus metabolism in China is non-sustainable in modern industrial society. In this paper, firstly different models of phosphorus metabolism are built for the following three typical periods: the natural society, the traditional agricultural society and the modern industrial society, respectively. Then, the three models are compared from different aspects, such as metabolism structure, scope, time, concentration, rate and so on. At last, the factors causing phosphorus metabolism in China non-sustainable are identified, and the solution for the crisis of phosphorus resource is given.

The result shows that, the structure, scope, time, and intensity of phosphorus metabolism change evidently with society development. To metabolism structures, the big geological cycle of phosphorus is similar and the small biological cycle of phosphorus is different among the three periods. Firstly, the nodes of phosphorus metabolism in traditional agricultural society are more than that in natural society, and the nodes in modern industrial society are the most. For example, the "human consumption" in traditional agriculture society and the "phosphorous industry" in modern industrial society are new nodes. Secondly, the flow relationship among different nodes in traditional agricultural society is more complex than that in natural society, and that in modern industrial society is the most complicated. Thirdly, in natural society, the small biological cycle of phosphorus is closed. In traditional agricultural society, the cycle becomes more open. In modern industrial society, cycle chains are further opened and the previous cycle system becomes linear open system. The scope of phosphorus metabolism in traditional agriculture society becomes larger than in natural society and the scope in modern industrial society is the largest. The further quantitative analysis shows that cycle time becomes shorter and shorter, material flow rate becomes bigger and bigger. Furthermore, the absence of "decomposer"Athe overexploitation and irrational use of phosphorite are most important factors that cause phosphorus metabolism in modern industrial society non-sustainable. Based on the analysis mentioned above, reusing phosphorus resource, introducing "decomposer" of phosphorus metabolism, increasing recycle times of phosphorus, constructing closed industrial chains, will be better solutions for crisis of phosphorus in China.
