Voting Page

This year we will need an election for secretary.  Voting instructions are at the bottom of this page or scroll down the left side of this page and vote.  You must vote by March 27.  Biographies of the two candidates follow:

Zachery Sample – Zach is a graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology with Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and is a current graduate student of North Carolina State University working on his Masters in their Chemical Engineering Distance Track Program. During his undergraduate studies, he actively participated in a variety of organizations including AIChE, Kappa Alpha Order, Omega Chi Epsilon Chemical Engineering Honor Society, Order of Omega and Blue Key Honor Society among others. He tried to volunteer as much as possible, which included holding officer positions such as the Recruitment Officer, Secretary and Historian for Kappa Alpha Order and Omega Chi Epsilon.

Since his graduation from Missouri S&T, he has accumulated over three years of experience in chemical engineering positions, most of which have been in the field of process simulation. Currently, he works as a simulation project engineer for MYNAH Technologies in Chesterfield, Missouri, but he also has industry experience as an intern with Cargill’s Dressings, Sauces and Oils business unit. At MYNAH Technologies, he primarily works on design teams to develop dynamic operator training simulation solutions to a variety of customer processes and control systems. In an effort to continue his professional growth in this position, he has also become a member of ISA and plans to enroll in the Certified Automation Professional Associate program.

He is interested in volunteering time as an officer for the Section because AIChE has provided valuable learning tools and networking events with like-minded individuals, and he would like to see the Section succeed through continued growth. Since this growth is made possible through the communication and promotion of events and meetings to members and non-members alike, as a fairly recent graduate, he would be especially interested in helping increase the attendance of young professionals in any way possible.

Jeremias Szust – Jeremias was vice chair for the Twin Cities chapter in 2013 for only a few months before moving to St. Louis.  Unfortunately, he feels he never really got a chance to serve.  He would like to contribute to the local chapter in some way such as secretary.  He is open to moving to vice-chair after obtaining a little better understanding of the local chapter and the organizational structure.  This would give him time to become familiar with the group.

He graduated in 2011 with a BS in Chemical-Biological Engineering from MIT.  Shortly thereafter he worked at Sensient, a synthetic and natural color manufacturer located downtown. He still maintains contact with some people at Sensient, so they could provide an opportunity for a future plant tour.  In 2012 he transitioned to consulting with Trinity.  His internship experience includes half year stints with the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics, creating a dynamic web-app tracking shipping corridors in Colombia, and Ze-gen, a renewable energy company generating electricity by combusting syn-gas produced by dumping organic waste into a liquid copper filled kiln.
