Please join us for the 1st Annual St. Louis AIChE Local Homebrewing Competition! We are looking for anyone and everyone in the greater St. Louis area to join us for a night of sharing, community, and constructive feedback. Be this your first or four-hundredth brew, we’d love for you to share your creations with fellow homebrewers, beer enthusiasts, and chemical engineers. Even if you do not plan on submitting a beer for entry, we hope that you can join us to try out various homebrews, listen to homebrewers talk about their creations, and potentially be a volunteer judge! We plan on hosting two judging panels – a professional panel made up of professional members of the beermaking community, including professional brewers, and a volunteer panel made up of local AIChE members. If you are interested in being a volunteer judge, please let us know in your RSVP and we will include you in the random volunteer judge selection process.

5:30-6:00 pm Registration / Socializing
6:00-6:45 pm Dinner
6:45-7:45 pm Judging / Socializing / Tasting
7:45-8:00 pm Podium Announcements

Please feel free to submit as many styles of beer as you’d like, just make sure they are properly labeled with your name and the beer’s style. If you do plan on submitting beer to be judged, please bring at least 8 bottles of each style; enough for the professional panel, the volunteer panel, and some for everyone else to try! Please note that this is not a BJCP style event, so beers judged by the volunteer panel will only be judged in three categories: light beer, medium bodied beer, and heavy/dark beer. The professional panel will provide feedback specific to the beer style submitted.

Menu: Smoked BBQ Brisket, BBQ Chicken, House made Potato Salad & Slaw, Roasted Potatoes, Corn Cob, Cornbread, Carmel Pretzel Brownie

Cost: $25 – section members, $30 – Non-members, $15 – Students over 21

If you plan on submitting beer, please RSVP to Jeremias Szust and indicate how many styles of beer you are submitting by October 10th at or (636) 530 – 4600 x111.  To just attend, RSVP by October 17th to Jeremias.
