Local student chapters of AIChE will be doing their annual visit to our chapter for our January meeting. Here's your chance to either support them or lightly heckle them, depending on what university you went to! Hear about what they've been up to and how you can make a difference for their chapters.
When you've worked up an appetite welcoming our guests from Kansas / Mizzou / K. State / Benedictine, enjoy some Joe's KC BBQ [brisket and pulled pork, plus potato salad, beans, and slaw] and a presentation from Meryl Bloomfield from Black & Veatch. Meryl will be presenting on Hazardous Materials Classification, including how to appropriately read SDSs, design for hazards, and understand how hazardours materials are regulated. This should be a unique topic that's relevant to all industries and even in laboratory settings for the students.
Make sure to RSVP below (and indicate if you need a vegetarian option). Dues are $5 for members and free for students.
Due to unforseen environmental circumstances, the location has been changed to a new building on the Black & Veatch campus. You'll need to make sure to bring a government issued photo ID to the meeting or you won't be able to get in. You'll have to check in with B&V security at the door (as shown on the attached map).
